A video claiming that around 3000 Indian students were standing in a line for job interview has gone viral. The students were seen lined up outside a newly opened restaurant in Canada for job interview. Video claims that the students were lined up for waiter, servant job interview. The viral video has sparked concerns among students aspiring to move to Canada for further studies.
A tweet on platform X reads, “Scary scenes from Canada as 3000 students (mostly Indian) line up for waiter & servant job after an advertisement by a new restaurant opening in Brampton. Massive unemployment in Trudeau’s Canada? Students leaving India for Canada with rosy dreams need serious introspection!” We cannot verify the authenticity, date and time of the video.
Netizens Say “Everything That Glitters is Not Gold”
Reacting to the video, user commented, “It is alarming to see 3,000 students, mainly from India, lining up for waiter and servant jobs in Brampton. This reflects the harsh reality of unemployment in Trudeau’s Canada. Those leaving India for dreams need a serious reality check!” Another user claiming to be job aspirant posted, “Alarming, if true. Canada is facing massive unemployment. Didn’t see this number of youths lined up for a job at new restaurants even in India.”
Another user commented, “The worst part is that most of them are engineers ,MBA holders and IT engineers who had job in India with up to 100k RS a month salary coming here for the Canada dream !! These students are depressed and struggling ! Everything that glitters is not gold !!! Stay away”
Canada Tightens Student Visa Restrictions
To reduce the number of temporary residents in Canada, the government recently announced its plan to reduce international students. In 2025, the new international student study permit will be reduced by 10 per cent from the 2024 target of 485,000. In other words, study permits issued to only 4,37,000 students in 2025.
