Although the United States is considered the best basketball team in the 2024 Paris Olympics, Canada offers very intriguing competition.
Team USA (-650) is currently the favorite to win the tournament, per BetMGM. Canada (+1000), however, has the next-best odds. France (+1400) and Serbia (+1600) are considered other likely candidates after the two North American national teams.
Led by head coach Jordi Hernandez — recently named head coach of the Brooklyn Nets — Canada’s roster will return many of the players that defeated Team USA and won bronze at the 2023 FIBA World Cup. Our neighbors up north also have nearly a full roster of players with NBA experience, including two real backcourt stars with Oklahoma City’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Denver’s Jamal Murray.
