Taylor Swift Enters Her Canadian Tuxedo Era For The NFL Season Opener
Football may be billed as an all-American sport, but at the Kansas City Chiefs vs Baltimore Ravens game, Taylor Swift seemingly took fashion inspiration from US neighbours up North. Swift arrived at the Chiefs’s Arrowhead Stadium to support boyfriend Travis Kelce in her version of a Canadian tuxedo: a denim Versace corset top (the same style, in fact, as the black satin one she wore on Saturday Night Live last October) and short denim shorts, both in a medium-blue wash.
In a clear nod to the team colours – red and gold – Swift also sported burgundy thigh-high patent leather boots. (According to our weather app, it was currently 84 degrees in Kansas City, making the boots a bold choice, but we’re sure Swift’s suite had AC.) The pop star and professional tortured poet wore her hair down in loose waves, her bangs swept to the side. She accessorised with a gold pendant necklace from Mejuri and carried a highly coveted Louis Vuitton Petite Malle bag.
Last season, Swift’s game-day looks included a mix of Hill House tartan skirts, cozy knits and Chief merch. She was also among the WAGs who got her hands on a custom jacket by Kristin Juszczyk, the wife of San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk. While we can’t know yet what looks she’ll be pulling out for her sophomore season as a Chiefs fan, we do know we’ll be watching.
