Taylor Hall records fifth career NHL hat trick
Chicago Blackhawks left winger Taylor Hall of Calgary, Alberta recorded his fifth career National Hockey League hat trick on Wednesday. He accomplished the feat in a 6-2 Blackhawks win over the Dallas Stars at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
Hall opened the scoring at the 17 second mark of the first period from Philipp Kurashev and Alec Martinez. He then put the Blackhawks up 2-0 from Ryan Donato at 5:43 of the first period. Hall then put the Blackhawks up 5-1 at 8:42 of the second period from Craig Smith and Pat Maroon.
Hall was one of two Blackhawks players with a multi-point game. The other was left winger Tyler Bertuzzi of Sudbury, Ontario, who had two assists. Meanwhile, two more Canadians scored for the Blackhawks. They were Connor Bedard of North Vancouver, British Columbia, and defenseman Louis Crevier of Quebec City, Quebec. For Crevier, it was his first ever NHL goal.
In 2024-25, Hall has five goals and four assists for nine points in 23 games. He is a -3 with six penalty minutes, one power-play point, 45 shots on goal, 14 faceoff wins, 19 blocked shots, 14 hits, 12 takeaways, and 15 giveaways. Hall’s power play point was an assist on a goal by Teuvo Teravainen in a 4-2 Blackhawks win over the Anaheim Ducks on November 3.
This was Hall’s first hat trick with the Blackhawks. The other four came with the Edmonton Oilers. Hall scored thrice in a 5-3 Oilers win over the Atlanta Thrashers on February 19, 2011, in a 9-2 Oilers win over the Blackhawks on November 19, 2011, in a 4-0 Oilers win over the Vancouver Canucks on March 30, 2013, and in an 8-2 Oilers win over the Colorado Avalanche on December 5, 2013.
