Canadian rapper Aubrey Drake Graham, famously known as Drake, placed a bet worth INR 5 crore on Team India to defeat arch-rivals Pakistan in the upcoming much-anticipated T20 World Cup 2024 clash at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on Sunday, June 9,

India and Pakistan will lock horns with each other for the ninth time in the T20 World Cup history. In their eight previous encounters, the Men in Blue emerged victorious on seven occasions while Pakistan won only once in the 2021 edition of the tournament.

Meanwhile, India and Pakistan had constrating results in their respective opening matches of their T20 World Cup 2024 campaign. The Men in Blue kicked off their campaign with a thumping eight-wicket win after chasing down a mere 97-run target set by Ireland.

Skipper Rohit Sharma scored a match-winning 52 off 37 balls before he was retired hurt due to injury on his shoulder. Vice-captain Hardik Pandya (3/27), Jasprit Bumrah (2/6) and Arshdeep Singh (2/35) contributed significantly with the ball to bundle out Ireland for 96.

Pakistan, on the other hand, suffered a embarrassing and shocking defeat against the USA in the Super Over. The co-hosts levelled Pakistan’s score of 159 in 20 overs and took the match into the Super Over.
