Entering the 2024 Paris Olympics, Canadian swim star Summer McIntosh does not own any Olympic medals … yet.
McIntosh made headlines three years ago when she made her Olympic debut at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. At the age of 14, she was the youngest member of the Canadian team and stunned the Olympic audience when she narrowly missed the podium, finishing fourth in the 400m.
Now, she is set to lead Canada’s swimming in Paris. It’s shaping up to be a matter of how many medals she will win, not if McIntosh will earn any Olympic hardware.

Summer McIntosh events
McIntosh is expected to compete in four individual events, but could in total be in seven events. Her schedule is not completely finalized.
The Toronto native’s primary events are the 200m butterfly, 400m individual medley, and 400m freestyle. She also will compete in the 200m IM, not the 800m freestyle. The finals for the two events are in the same session on the Olympic schedule, making it unrealistic for her to swim both.
She also could swim in the 4×100 freestyle relay, 4×200 freestyle relay and the mixed 4×100 medley relay.

When is Summer McIntosh swimming next?
With McIntosh set to compete in numerous races, it means she will frequent television sets during the swimming portion of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
She will be competing in the heats for each event (minus the team medleys), which will start at 5 a.m. ET on their scheduled mornings. The live broadcast will be carried by CBC, and can also be streamed on Fubo.
When McIntosh swims in the finals each day, CBC will broadcast the races, starting at 2:30 p.m. ET each afternoon.
