Located on the prestigious Sherbrooke Street in the heart of Montreal for more than 20 years, Sofitel Montreal Golden Mile – in French, Sofitel Montréal le Carré Doré — will get a complete refurbishment just in time for the French luxury hotel brand’s 60th birthday.

The five-star property has established itself on the Montreal hotel scene, delivering on the brand’s promise to offer guests sincere, committed service with a French zest while celebrating local culture.

The Sofitel Montreal Golden Mile boasts 256 rooms, including 17 suites, a bar, the renowned Renoir restaurant, and over 10,000 square meters of meeting and event spaces. Its location is just a short walk from some of the city’s most popular tourist attractions, such as Mount Royal and Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, as well as luxury boutiques and a variety of gourmet restaurants.

“More than 20 years after Sofitel Montreal Golden Mile’s debut, we have reached a significant milestone. This complete refurbishment illustrates our dedication to providing bespoke service and a renewed customer experience, fusing Montreal’s local culture with Sofitel’s signature French elegance,” says General Manager Marc Pichot.

This three-phase refurbishment project will include all the hotel’s common spaces, guest rooms, and the Renoir restaurant, an institution in Montreal’s gastronomic scene.

The first phase, currently underway, is transforming the lobby and restaurant. Starting this fall, visitors will have the opportunity to discover the new look of these spaces and the new ambiance of the Renoir with a new bar area. The common areas will then be unveiled in December 2024, followed by the guest rooms in spring 2025.

Throughout the process, the hotel will remain open to the public, and its team will focus on continuing to deliver high-quality service.
