On Saturday, the Rams — who finished in fourth place in the Canada West standings with a 3-5 record — will visit the Manitoba Bisons, who finished in first place at 7-1. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.

In their only meeting of the season, the Bisons topped the Rams 22-13 back on Sept. 28 in Winnipeg with Manitoba taking a 7-6 lead into halftime before scoring 14 points in the third quarter as they rushed for 217 yards on the day.

In their last 11 contests against the Bisons dating back to 2017, the Rams have won just twice with their last victory coming in Manitoba in 2022.

This season, the Bisons lead the conference with an average of 31.4 points per game while the Rams are last with an average of 19.6.

Manitoba’s strong offence averages 460.5 yards per game, including 252 rushing yards, while the Rams have the stingiest defence as Regina is allowing an average of just 366.6 yards per offence and 22.1 points per game, which are both lowest in the Canada West.

The winner of Saturday’s game will move on to the 87th Hardy Cup on Nov. 9 where they will play the winner of the University of Saskatchewan Huskies (5-3) and UBC Thunderbirds (5-3), who meet in the other semifinal on Saturday.

The Canada West champion will then host Quebec’s RSEQ champion in the Mitchell Bowl on Nov. 16 with the winner from there advancing to the Vanier Cup on Nov. 23 in Hamilton.
