Rachel Homan of Ottawa, Ontario has won the 2024 Kioti National from St. John’s, Newfoundland. On Sunday, Homan won her 17th grand slam title by beating Anna Hasselborg of Sweden 6-5 in the final. With her final shot in the eighth end, Homan moved a Hasselborg stone out of the four foot. This allowed two rocks in the eight foot to count for Homan and take the one point win.

Homan went undefeated throughout the Boost National. She defeated Chelsea Carey of Winnipeg, Manitoba, 8-3 on Tuesday, Christina Black of Sydney, Nova Scotia 6-3 on Wednesday, Stefania Constantini of Italy 7-3 on Thursday, and Isabelle Wrana of Sweden 11-6 on Friday. In Homan’s win over Wrana, Homan was actually trailing 6-5 heading into the final end when she had a six ender. In the quarterfinals, Homan beat Sayaka Yoshimura of Japan 7-6, and then beat Eun-jung Kim of South Korea by the same score of 7-6 in the semifinals.

This was Homan’s second Grand Slam of Curling title in 2024-25. She previously won the Canadian Open in Nisku, Alberta on November 10.

Homan has now won the National won three times. She previously won in 2015 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, and in 2018 in Conception Bay South, Newfoundland. Homan has also won two Tour Challenges, four Canadian Opens, four Masters and four Champions Cups.
