Pierre Poilievre: Canadian conservative leader Pierre Poilievre shares Dussehra greetings | World News – Times of India
Canadian Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre recently took to social media to commemorate the Dussehra festival, celebrating the victory of good over evil at Canada’s largest Hindu Sabha Mandir.
“Celebrated the victory of good over evil at the largest Dussehra celebration in Canada at the Hindu Sabha Mandir,” he said in his post on X.
Dussehra celebrations across Canada marked a vibrant culmination of festivities, with communities celebrating the festival which symbolises the triumph of good over evil.
This comes when Poilievre is intensifying his opposition against Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau‘s government, which is currently embroiled in a turbulent period marked by ongoing challenges.
The recent no-confidence vote, narrowly defeated in September, highlighted widespread dissatisfaction with Trudeau’s leadership. Critics, including Poilievre, have criticised Trudeau’s handling of economic issues such as high living costs, housing shortages, and crime rates during his nearly nine-year tenure.
“After nine years of Liberal government, the promise of Canada is broken,” Poilievre stated, emphasizing the need for a pragmatic approach to tax reductions, housing solutions, budget reforms, and crime prevention if elected.
Despite Poilievre’s challenges, Trudeau’s minority government has managed to retain support from other opposition parties critical of Conservative tactics. Liberal House leader Karina Gould dismissed the latest motion as “political gamesmanship.”
With polls showing a significant lead for the Conservatives, anticipation is high ahead of the next federal election scheduled by October 2025. The outcome of these political maneuvers will shape Canada’s political landscape as parties vie for voter confidence amidst ongoing economic challenges.
