Olympic basketball Team Canada unveiled their men’s basketball team for the Paris Olympics

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Jamal Murray of the Denver Nuggets lead a Canadian men’s basketball squad with extensive NBA experience that will participate in the Paris Olympics this summer.

Canada Basketball and the Canadian Olympic Committee unveiled the roster on Wednesday, with 11 of the 12 players having previously played in the world’s top basketball league.

Gilgeous-Alexander of Hamilton shone as Canada qualified for the Olympics at the 2023 FIBA World Cup, winning the bronze medal game against the United States.

On Canada’s roster, team captain Kelly Olynyk and RJ Barret will represent the Toronto Raptors with World Cup star Dillon Brooks of the Houston Rockets and defensive veteran Luguentz Dort from the Thunder.

The Canadian men’s basketball team will make their first Olympic participation since placing eighth at the 2000 Sydney Games.

Basketball will take held from July 27 to August 11.
