Nick Anderson is the Second Lead Tackler in the CFL

Vicksburg native Nick Anderson is now one of the Canadian Football League’s lead tacklers this year. Anderson, a rookie linebacker for the Edmonton Elks, now sits with a total of 73(2nd in CFL) tackles.

The Elks have won four out of their last five games where Anderson played a heavy role in grabbing 32 tackles in that period. After a 35-20 win on Sunday against the Stampeders, the Elks now have a 4-8 record.

Anderson starred at Jones College before transferring to Tulane. He chose Tulane over the University of Louisiana-Monroe, Ole Miss, and South Alabama. In his four years with the Green Waves, Anderson finished with 357 tackles and six sacks.

In the 2023 NFL Draft, Anderson went undrafted but was later signed by the New Orleans Saints. He was waived a short time later but has now found a home with the Elks’ organization where he is once again a rising star.

Anderson is a 2018 graduate of Vicksburg High School.
