While labour market concerns continue, there are multiple CRA jobs that are hiring now for various locations in Canada.

Getting a government job can be a difficult task, but there is always an opportunity if you have the required skills that match a job profile.

Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) is one of Canada’s top employers and offers competitive salaries with nearly 60,000 employees.

Temporary residents with valid open work permits, Canadian citizens, and permanent residents living abroad are eligible to apply for these roles.

Clerical CRA Jobs in British Columbia

CRA is currently accepting applications to hire for SP-03 clerical positions in Kelowna, Surrey, Vancouver, Victoria, and B.C./C.-B.

Preference will be given to the first 100 candidates meeting the staffing requirements to apply for these roles.

Compliance Programs Support Clerk and Investigations Support Clerk are the two job titles that CRA is looking to hire candidates for.

From educational standpoints, a secondary school diploma and postsecondary certificate or diploma in office administration, administrative assistant, business administration, human resources management, or higher from a recognized institution are required.

A minimum of 12 months of work experience in the last 2 years is required for providing customer service or working in an office environment.

The salary range for these clerical positions is $58,307 to $64,361 per year.

The last date to apply for these roles is July 31, 2024 so you need to hurry with only 10 days left.

Clerical CRA Jobs in Ontario

CRA is also hiring for SP-01 to SP-04 job positions in Sudbury and ES-02, ES-03, and ES-04 positions in Ottawa.

Sudbury salary ranges are listed below:

  • SP01 (Salary Range: $44,311 to $48,916) English Essential
  • SP02 (Salary Range: $50,808 to $56,081) English Essentials and Bilingual Imperative
  • SP03 (Salary Range: $56,326 to $62,175) English Essential and Bilingual imperative
  • SP04 (Salary Range: $61,774 to $69,526) English Essentials and Bilingual Imperative

The best thing about these jobs to be staffed in Sudbury is that no prior experience is needed to apply for them.

Furthermore, only two years of secondary school or equivalent are needed for SP01, SP02, and SP03 roles, and a secondary school diploma is needed for SP04 roles.

Preference will be given to the first 200 candidates so do not delay applying, although the last date to do so is September 19, 2024.

For the Ottawa positions, the salary range is $67,619 to $80,124, depending on the level of job to be filled.

Ottawa headquarters is looking forward to hiring junior quantitative analysts, intermediate quantitative analysts, and quantitative analysts for the service, innovation, and integration branches.

So these roles in Ottawa require prior relevant experience and a degree in economics, sociology, statistics, geography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or geomatics is needed.

Auditor Positions in Alberta, B.C., Manitoba, and Saskatchewan

The Canada Revenue Agency is hiring experienced tax, audit, and accounting professionals for AU-03 level jobs in Western Canada.

Location: Vancouver, (British Columbia); Surrey, (British Columbia); Victoria, (British Columbia); Kelowna, (British Columbia); Penticton, (British Columbia);  Prince George, (British Columbia); Calgary, (Alberta); Edmonton, (Alberta); Regina, (Saskatchewan); Saskatoon, (Saskatchewan); and Winnipeg, (Manitoba).

The salary range is $95,745 to $117,752 a year, and the last date to apply is July 31, 2024.

As per the nature of this role, at least 2 years of prior experience in last 5 years is mandatory and a degree from a recognized postsecondary institution with acceptable specialization in accounting.

These roles are also available to CRA employees already working with the department at the AU-02 level.

Always remember that preference is given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents for most of the government jobs in Canada.

However, international students on post graduate work permit or their spouses on open work permit can also try applying.
