Milanovic-Litre finds end zone in Tiger-Cats win over Redblacks

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats won their fourth game of the 2024 Canadian Football League season on Saturday. In the process, they delivered an upset at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, Ontario as Hamilton defeated the Ottawa Redblacks 37-21. It has been a solid season for the Redblacks, as they are second in the Eastern Division with 17 points (eight wins, four losses and one tie), however, they struggled as a unit on Saturday in their 16-point loss.

One Canadian recorded a touchdown for the Tiger-Cats. In the third quarter, with one minute and 27 seconds left, Ante Milanovic-Litre of Vancouver, British Columbia had a 20-yard touchdown catch from Bo Levi Mitchell, which put Hamilton up 28-6 at the time. Milanovic-Litre’s touchdown catch was his only reception of the game. He also had 10 rushes for 36 rushing yards.

In 2024, Milanovic-Litre has 34 rushes for 97 rushing yards and two touchdowns, and four catches for 38 receiving yards and another touchdown. This is his first season in Hamilton, after five seasons with the Calgary Stampeders (2017 to 2021), and one season each with the Edmonton Elks (2022), and Ottawa Redblacks (2023).

In other Canadian football news, the late Ed Laverty of Ottawa, Ontario was officially announced into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in Hamilton on Saturday. Laverty was the president of the Ottawa Nepean Touch Football League and Ontario Touch Football League.
