Last week, the Writers Guild of Canada voted in favour of authorizing strike action, should its current negotiations for a new labour deal with Canadian film studios and distributors hit a stalemate.
Today on Commotion, host Elamin Abdelmahmoud speaks with screenwriter Anthony Q. Farrell to find out why this vote prompted the highest voter turnout in Guild history, and what’s at stake in these negotiations with the Canadian Media Producers Association.
