HYROX building scale with launch in Canada – endurance.biz

Indoor fitness race series HYROX is set to make its debut in Canada, with the first Canadian HYROX race scheduled to take place in Toronto at the Enercare Centre on October 5th, 2024.

Citing Canada’s health and fitness landscape, valued at $4.7 billion in 2023, HYROX sees the country as… ‘a natural next course of action for HYROX, which has been named in both 2023 and 2024 as one of the top fitness trends.’

HYROX reports that its participation rate has increased by a significant 1081% over the last five years. The fitness racing series is looking to unlock demand from the Canadian market, and welcome athletes from diverse backgrounds. The company adds… ‘If you’re a total novice, regular gym-goer or pro athlete, there is a race category for you.’

“This move reflects our growth and commitment to making fitness racing a world renowned sport, we’ve already welcomed Canadian athletes at races all over the world, so finally enabling participation on home turf has been a priority.”

In celebration of HYROX’s Canada launch, a launch tour will take place over a two-week period, designed to provide a taste of HYROX to prospective athletes at HYROX affiliate gyms across the country. The tour will begin on February 10th with a two-day event at One Academy, a HYROX affiliate gym, previously voted Toronto’s best gym.

On day-one members can learn the foundations of HYROX through a masterclass, while day two will consist of a HYROX simulation event, further aiding HYROX preparation ahead of the first official race in October.
