How much prize money does the winner get at the 2024 Canadian Open?
The RBC Canadian Open kicks off a four-week stretch that includes two Signature Events and a major championship. Following this is the Memorial Tournament, then the US Open, and finally the Travelers Championship.
The RBC Canadian Open is Canada’s national open and one of the oldest events on tour. It was first held in 1904, making it the third-oldest event on the PGA Tour. This year marks the 120th anniversary of the RBC Canadian Open. Last year, Nick Taylor secured an incredible victory in the tournament, defeating Tommy Fleetwood in a playoff with a 72-foot putt on the third playoff hole. He became the first Canadian to win his home national open in almost seven decades.
Play begins on Thursday, May 30, at Hamilton Golf and Country Club in Hamilton, Ontario. Notable players in the field for the event include Rory McIlroy, Sahith Theegala, Tommy Fleetwood, Shane Lowry, and Cameron Young, with McIlroy being a two-time champion. McIlroy’s 2019 RBC Canadian Open win was the last time the event was held at Hamilton Golf and Country Club.

The initial prize purse is allocated to the top 65 players who will advance to the weekend’s action at the Hamilton Golf & Country Club. Additionally, based on the number of players who qualify, extra money is up for grabs, extending payouts to the top 90 players on Sunday evening.
