Ever thought a missed field goal could actually win a game? In the Canadian Football League, it can—and it just happened! 

ML Football official X dropped a tweet saying that the CFL has a wild rule where: “A missed field goal that goes through the end-zone is a point. If it is a tie game, a missed field goal can WIN THE GAME FOR YOU. That happened last night!” Yep, you read that right: a missed kick can be a game-winner if it’s a tie game, thanks to the “walk-off rouge.”

Here’s the scoop: In the CFL, a field goal’s worth three points if it’s kicked over the crossbar and between the uprights. But if the kick misses and the ball drifts through the end zone, it’s worth one point. This unique rule adds a thrilling twist to the end of close games.

Compare that to the NFL, where a field goal must go through the uprights and above the crossbar to count. If the ball is kicked and doesn’t clear the goalposts or gets touched, it’s a miss. No bonus points for missed kicks in the NFL.
