Fubo Sports Network joins Prime Video Channels in Canada – Broadcast Dialogue

FuboTV and Amazon have announced the launch of Fubo Sports Network on Prime Video Channels in Canada, marking the first time the sports network is available in Canada outside of a subscription to the Fubo platform.

Fubo Sports Network carries a live sports catalogue that spans 1,000 events a year from soccer to MMA, including the English Premier League, Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC), the Professional Fighters League (PFL), and World Poker Tour.

“We are thrilled to partner with Prime Video and bring Fubo Sports Network to its millions of engaged viewers in Canada,” said Ben Grad, senior vice president, strategic partnerships and operations, Fubo, in an announcement. “This collaboration is a major step forward in our mission to deliver premium sports content to Canadian sports fans and provide them with unparalleled access to exclusive live events and more of the programming they crave.”

“We’re delighted to bring Fubo Sports Network to Prime Video Channels in Canada, expanding our selection of live sports content just in time for English Premier League season start,” added Magda Grace, head of Prime Video Canada, Australia and New Zealand. “The addition of Fubo Sports Network underscores our commitment to delivering Canadian sports fans even more of the programming they want all in one place.”

Based in Manhattan, Fubo’s sports-first streaming platform is currently operating in Canada, the U.S., France and Spain.

Since launching Prime Video Channels in Canada in 2019, Amazon has made moves to position its streaming service as a content hub, offering Bell Media’s Crave, Corus Entertainment’s STACKTV, Rogers’ Sportsnet and CityTV, Hollywood Suite and Super Channel, among other Canadian programming.

In addition to today’s announcement, its push into sports includes a two-year agreement to bring Monday night NHL hockey to Canadian fans on Prime Video, starting with the 2024/25 season.

The NHL’s first exclusive national broadcast deal with a digital-only streaming service in Canada, Prime Monday Night Hockey will be produced by Prime Video, and feature its own broadcast team, offering analysis and play-by-play coverage.
