Former NAIA Football Players Make 2024 Opening Game Rosters in the Canadian Football League – Victory Sports Network

Three former NAIA football players have made rosters in the Canadian Football League (CFL). The CFL season kicks off this week across Canada with games Thursday through Sunday night. As of this week, Noah Curtis (Keiser University), Devin Adams (Peru State) and Cameron Dukes (Lindsey Wilson College) have all landed on teams.

Noah Curtis

Noah Curtis, a defensive lineman, will be playing for the Edmonton Elks after finishing his career at Keiser University in 2022. Curtis is in his second year with the Elks after being drafted in the 4th round of the 2023 CFL draft. In his rookie season Curtis totaled 23 tackles and two sacks over 18 games. Curtis is the first pro football player from Keiser University.

Devin Adams, a defensive lineman, landed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers after finishing his career with Peru State in XXXX. Adams started his college career at Delaware State before landing at Peru State. There’s a Winnipeg connection, too, as former Blue Bombers assistant Casey Creehan — now the head coach at Missouri Valley College — coached Adams at Peru State. Adams was a late arrival to Winnipeg camp as he was part of mini camp with the New England Patriots.

Cameron Dukes, a quarterback, returns to the Toronto Argonauts for a second season after finishing his career with Lindsey Wilson College in 2021. After playing indoor ball in 2002, Dukes signed with the Argonauts in March of 2023. During his CFL rookie campaign, Dukes played in all 18 games and started two for Toronto. He finished the season 63-96 for 760 yards with two TDs and three INTs. He was used primarily in short yardage situations last season as he rushed for 126 yards and scored eight TDs on the ground.
