The ninth week of the Canadian Football League regular season is now complete and two Canadians shined on winning teams. They were Montreal Alouettes fullback David Dallaire of Saint-Georges, Quebec, and Edmonton Elks quarterback Tre Ford of Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Dallaire had a 39-yard touchdown catch from Caleb Evans in a 33-16 Alouettes win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Friday. At the time, the Alouettes went up 26-8. On the season, Dallaire has five catches for 56 receiving yards and one touchdown. With the win, the Alouettes improved to a record of seven wins and one loss for 14 points, and lead the East Division.

On the other end of the CFL standings, are the 1-7 Elks, who won their first game of the season on Saturday. They defeated the Saskatchewan Roughriders 42-31. For weeks, the Elks fan base have been wanting the coaching staff to start Ford at quarterback over McLeod Bethel-Thompson. On Saturday, they got their wish. Ford showed incredible accuracy as he completed 18 of 22 passes for 252 passing yards, two passing touchdowns and one interception. Both touchdown passes were to Tevin Jones. The first was of 93 yards in the first quarter, which put the Elks up 13-8, and the second was of 19 yards in the fourth quarter, and put the Elks up 42-24. Ford also had five rushes for 46 rushing yards.
