Florida Weather Report, India vs Canada, T20 World Cup: Rain Threatens Washout

Rain could play spoilsport as India take on Canada in their final group game of the T20 World Cup 2024 on June 15. The Men in Blue have already qualified for the Super 8s. The game though will present India a chance to test their bench strength before the Super 8s round. As per the weather forecast, Florida is expected to witness heavy rain and thunderstorms on Saturday. A state of emergency has been declared in the town due to persistent rains and the conditions do not look great for play on Saturday.

As per AccuWeather, there is a 51 percent chance of rain at 11:00 AM, half an hour after the scheduled start of play. The rain forecast stays well over 50 percent throughout the day. If the forecast comes true, the match getting washed out will be inevitable.

India secured a Super 8s berth after picking wins over Ireland, Pakistan, and the USA in their first three games. The game against Canada will be a great opportunity for Rohit Sharma to give fringe players a shot in the playing XI. Kuldeep Yadav is expected to play a big role for India in the Super 8s and he will likely get a slot in the XI if the game gets underway. Also, Sanju Samson could be picked ahead of Shivam Dube, who has looked ordinary in the three games so far. Virat Kohli hasn’t been at his best in the T20 World Cup and there are speculations that the veteran can be pushed to No.3. If team India is mulling over making such a move, Yashasvi Jaiswal could also be given some game time ahead of the Super 8s.

Meanwhile, the USA will take on Ireland in Florida on June 14. The game stands of utmost importance in terms of second qualifier from Group A. The forecast is not great for the day and if the match is washed out, USA will qualify for the Super 8s and Pakistan will be knocked out of the T20 World Cup.
