College Golf Experience: Announces 1st college golf camp in Canada
LOS ANGELES, CA—College Golf Experience (CGX), the leading educational golf camp company exclusively endorsed by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA), announces its first camp in Canada, the CGX Western Canada College Golf Exposure Camp, which will be held at Mickelson National Golf Club in Calgary on July 12-13.
Junior golfers must wait until June 15, prior to their Grade 11 school year, before they can communicate directly with coaches…except in a camp setting. Canadian junior golfers and parents have a unique opportunity to meet one-on-one with top collegiate coaches to gain insight into college golf and the recruiting process in a camp setting.
The Western Canada Exposure Camp will feature educational seminars on college golf and the recruiting process, including open Q&A with parent involvement, a college golf practice session with drills and challenges, meals with coaches, and 27 holes of college golf practice and tournament rounds with coaches walking the fairways with players and parents, course management and strategy lessons, and real-time feedback.
“The popularity and competitive landscape in Canada have led to many players looking for and deserving of opportunities to play college golf in the U.S.,” said CGX CEO Joshua Jacobs. “Players and their families usually must travel extensively internationally and/or qualify to play in major events for multiple years just to hope to have the chance to be seen by college coaches. This camp flips the model entirely and brings the coaches to them.”
The CGX Canadian Exposure Camp is now open for registration to girls and boys ages 11-18 who want to level up their game, learn about U.S. college golf, and build relationships with top collegiate coaches in an immersive educational environment. Head coaches from prestigious golf programs confirmed:
Todd Eckstein – High Point University, David Nuhn – University of Idaho, Jon Mills – Kent State University, Alyssa Waite – California State University Long Beach, Chris Massoletti – University of California, Santa Barbara.
“The CGX Western Canada Exposure Camp is the first event of its kind to ever come to Canada and is an unprecedented opportunity for junior golfers who aspire to play collegiate golf,” said Ryan J. Cater, Edge School’s Director of Golf. “The Edge School and Mickelson National Golf Club are thrilled to host it and bring this to Canadian juniors.”
“What an incredible opportunity for junior golfers in Canada to experience what it’s like to tee it up in front of college coaches,” said Jeffrey Hay, Owner of Varsity Golf Recruiting. “As a professional who spent my career developing high-level junior golfers and now, as a college golf recruiting service provider, I highly recommend College Golf Experience for any junior golfer who strives to play at the collegiate level. The camps provide a platform for junior golfers to showcase their talents to college coaches and offer an opportunity to build relationships that can benefit them regarding potential college options.”
