There is a new two-game series in junior hockey this year. The Top Prospects game has been replaced by the Canadian Hockey League/United States of America Prospects Challenge. The first game of the two game series took place at the Canadian Life Place in London, Ontario on Tuesday, and the second game will take place at the Tribute Communities Centre in Oshawa, Ontario on Wednesday.

In Tuesday’s game, three Canadians recorded two points (one goal and one assist). They were left winger Lynden Lakovic of West Kelowna, British Columbia, right winger Cameron Schmidt of Edmonton, Alberta, and defenseman Matthew Schaefer of Hamilton, Ontario. Lakovic plays for the Moose Jaw Warriors. Schmidt plays for the Vancouver Giants. The other three Canadian goal scorers were defenseman Kashawn Aitcheson of Toronto, Ontario, Brady Martin of Elmira, Ontario, and Malcolm Spence of Mississauga, Ontario. Aitcheson plays for the Barrie Colts and Martin plays for the Sault. Ste. Marie Greyhounds.

Meanwhile in other Canadian junior hockey news, Kelowna has been named the host city of the 2026 Memorial Cup. This is the second time Kelowna is hosting the Memorial Cup. The first time was 2004. Kelowna was selected to host the 2020 Memorial Cup, but the event was cancelled because of coronavirus. The 2025 Memorial Cup will be in Rimouski, Quebec.
