Farm in a Box, a modular, scalable aquaculture system developed by industry veterans Ohad Maiman, co-founder and former CEO of The Kingfish Company, and Thue Holm, co-founder and former chief technology officer of Atlantic Sapphire, has partnered with Canadian technology company ReelData to integrate AI tools into its next-generation fish farming operations.
The collaboration aims to enhance operational efficiency by leveraging ReelData’s expertise in artificial intelligence to optimize feed management, fish growth and biomass tracking within Farm in a Box’s land-based aquaculture systems, the firms announced on Thursday (Oct. 17).

Maiman and Holm, who are behind the development platform Aquafounders Capital, believe that Farm in a Box will cut the time needed to design and construct land-based aquaculture systems because it is prefabricated and scalable, as Undercurrent News reported. Maiman said the fish-farming system will address the most significant deterrent for investors in RAS: the prolonged timeline from initial investment to revenue generation.
