As Rohit Sharma-led India gear up to take on Pakistan in the T20 World Cup match this Sunday, June 9, international musician Drake has placed a substantial bet on India to emerge victorious. The “Hotline Bling” artist has wagered an impressive Rs. 5.4 crore. This bet follows closely after his recent winning bet in the IPL 2024.

In a recently expired Instagram Story, Drake disclosed that he has placed a bet exceeding Rs. 5 crores.

“We are 1 for 1 on cricket bets. Let’s start the run,” he shared a post.

His wager follows shortly after he won Rs. 3.73 crore from betting on the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). As reported by Mashable India, the rapper and singer had staked $250,000 on Shah Rukh Khan’s team. Through this bet, Drake secured over Rs. 1.7 crore in winnings.

India are part of Group A in the tournament, sharing the group with arch-rivals Pakistan, Ireland, Canada, and co-hosts USA.

Ahead of Sunday’s T20 World Cup clash against India, Pakistan have received a significant boost with all-rounder Imad Wasim being declared fit to play.

Imad missed Pakistan’s opening game, a humiliating defeat to the USA in Dallas, as well as the final match of their pre-tournament series against England due to a reported rib injury.

However, Pakistan coach Gary Kirsten announced in the pre-match press conference that the 35-year-old left-arm spinner will be available for selection.

Kirsten did not provide details on Pakistan’s probable line-up, stating he was awaiting fitness updates on other players.

However, the coach mentioned that regardless of who takes the field, they would be highly motivated to rebound from the painful defeat to the USA with a victory against their arch-rivals, India.

Meanwhile, Drake has been making headlines for his rap battle with Kendrick Lamar at the Hollywood Bowl. The feud intensified as both artists exchanged unusual accusations against each other.
