Canadian Connection! Griz Football Star Top 10 Pro Prospect

Where he’s from, what he’s been accomplishing and where he might end up combine to form the promise of a bright future.

University of Montana Sports Information Director Eric Taber tells us that Griz senior receiver Keelan White, a native of North Vancouver, B.C., has been ranked No. 10 on the list of the top 20 Canadians eligible for the 2025 Canadian Football League Draft. The CFL scouting bureau released that announcement Thursday, August 22.

Keelan, who was named Montana’s offensive MVP in 2023 by the Grizzly coaching staff,  is one of only three receivers on the Top 20 list, and one of only two players from the Football Championship Subdivision to make the list. He is coming off a breakout junior season, leading the team with 798 receiving yards on 54 catches with four touchdown catches. One of those touchdowns might be forever-etched in the minds of Griz fans, a school record 97-yard TD grab against Sacramento State, the longest play from scrimmage in Montana history.

 CFL REQUIREMENTS

As per the Canadian Football League rules, each team must have at least 21 Canadian nationals, including one nationalized American, on their 45-man active rosters. The CFL Scouting Bureau is comprised of CFL scouts, as well as player personnel directors and general managers from the league’s nine clubs. They release their rankings three times each year. The CFL Draft takes place each year in late April. Among the 9 teams in the league, nearly 80 eligible players from Canadian universities and Canadian players playing on NCAA and NAIA teams are selected.

Congratulations and best of luck to Sensational No. 6! If the Grizzly offense lives up to its preseason expectations, Keelan White should have another amazing year.
