Canadian Arts & Fashion Awards announces 2024 nominees
The Canadian Arts and Fashion Awards (CAFA) has announced the nominees for the 2024 edition of its annual awards show, naming the leading and emerging talent currently shaping the Canadian fashion industry and beyond.
The annual awards gala taking place on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto, is one of Canada’s only awards night that recognizes Canadian-based designers and various members of Canada’s fashion industry.
Among the nominees for the 2024 event, designer Beaufille was once again nominated for the Womenswear Designer of the Year Award alongside A Bronze Age, Frascara, RVNG Couture, and Shan.
Up for the Menswear Designer of the Year Award is By David Kollar, Raised by Wolves, Section 35, and Spencer Badu.
In the accessories category, jewelry brand Biko, will be up against Hillberg & Berk, L’Intervalle, Maguire Shoes and Poppy Barley.
Among emerging talent in the Canadian landscape, Ahiri, Fumi The Label, Golshaah, Jontay Kahm, and Mario Fugnitto were nominated in the Fashion category, while Black Suede Studio, Indi City, Lo’bat, Omi Woods, and Steff Eleoff were nominated in the accessories category.
Nominees were equally named in categories such as styling, modelling and other fashion-related categories.
