Canada’s Women’s 3×3 Basketball team tied for top spot at Paris Games

 

Team Canada’s Women’s 3×3 Basketball team split their two games on Thursday at the Paris Games.

Canada suffered their first loss at the Paris Games with a 19-15 defeat to Germany to begin the day.

The Germans got off to a fast start, jumping out to a 7-1 advantage. Canada would recover storming back with a 6-0 run to even the game.  

Both teams would gain small leads before Germany pulled ahead 19-12 before Canada rounded out the scoring before time expired.  

Humboldt’s Paige Crozon picked up four points and a rebound with a defensive rebound.  

Michelle and Katherine Plouffe each had five points for Canada.  

The Canadian squad bounced back with a 13-9 win over the host France team in the late game of the day. 

 Crozon along with Katherine Plouffe had four points each to lead Canada. 

 After today’s action Canada is tied with Australia and Germany for top spot with 3-1 records. 

On Friday, the Canadian will play another two games, first against the Americans at 10:00 am local time 

They will wrap up the day against Spain at 1:00 pm.
