Team Canada kept its hopes of earning a gold medal alive by finishing with a 3-0 record in group play, defeating Greece, Australia and Spain on its way to a quarterfinal matchup against France on Tuesday.
The Canadians were tested in their most recent game against Spain, escaping with an 88-85 victory behind a 20-point performance from All-NBA guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Andrew Nembhard contributed 18 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the field, helping Team Canada finish atop the Group A standings.
