All have had respectable NBA careers. Gilgeous-Alexander and Dort are fresh off leading the Thunder to the best record in the Western Conference. The Thunder advanced to the second round of the postseason, before falling to the eventual West Champion Mavericks in six games.

Meanwhile, Murray helped lead Denver to a 2023 NBA Finals victory and earned an ESPY for “Best Comeback Athlete” just a month later. He has remained stellar as one of the main centerpieces in Denver, averaging 21.2 points per game a season ago.

One name left off the Olympic roster is Andrew Wiggins, who was immediately out of consideration when training camp began due to complications with the Warriors, citing an “11th-hour decision”.

Canada got through pre-Olympic play with some tough draws but managed to knock off a gritty France team and stay within striking distance of Team USA throughout much of the contest despite an eventual double-digit loss.

Now, the focus shifts to Paris, as Team Canada will attempt to win a Gold Medal for the first time. The closest the team ever came was during the 1936 competition when they took home a Silver, their lone men’s basketball medal as a country.
