B.C. set to host 110th Canadian Women’s amateur golf championship

On July 29, players from around the world will compete at Royal Colwood Golf Club near Victoria

The Royal Colwood Golf Club is hosting the 110th Canadian Women’s Amateur Golf Championship on July 29. 

In total, 156 players from B.C., Canada, the U.S. and as far away as Australia, Botoa and Hong Kong will play.

Nine golfers from B.C. and another eight from the rest of Canada have qualified to date, with the pending list of players to be finalized by Golf Canada on July 3. This list could include another 50 golfers from B.C., 71 players from across Canada, and many from the U.S.

Lauren Kim of Surrey, B.C., who is currently attending the University of Texas, has qualified and will return to defend her 2023 championship. 

Host club Royal Colwood will be represented by two members: Cynthia Adamek and Olivia (Jiyue) Wu. 

The B.C. Amateur is happening this week in Kelowna and Victoria’s Chelsea Truong, 18 years old, will be defending her title, with the hopes of qualifying for the Canadian Women’s Amateur in her hometown.
