Hamilton’s Tim Hortons Field will change its name in 2025 | CEKAN
Hamilton’s Tim Hortons Field, which has played host to hundreds of sporting events, concerts, festivals and beyond for the past decade, is about to see a major identity change.
The prominent outdoor stadium has been known as Tim Hortons Field since it was built in 2014 on the former site of Ivor Wynne Stadium at 64 Melrose Avenue North.
However, 2025 will be the year that the venue changes its name following the end of a 10-year agreement between Tim Hortons and the Hamilton Sports Group, which owns the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Forge FC, and holds the long-term lease to the stadium.
A release on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats website explains that a new naming rights partner and new name for the venue will be announced as available.
This doesn’t mean Tim Hortons and Hamilton Sports Group are parting ways; both institutions will maintain a partnership with the stadium going forward.
“We’re proud of our 10-year partnership that helped launch a beautiful new multi-purpose stadium for the city of Hamilton,” said Hope Bagozzi, Chief Marketing Officer for Tim Hortons in a release.
“We, along with Tims restaurant owners, look forward to continuing to be a sponsor of the Tiger-Cats and other Canadian Football League teams across the country.”
