Women’s Tennis Signs Canadian Native Anya Tkachyk – Ball State University Athletics
MUNCIE, Ind. – Second-year head coach Sachin Kirtaine has announced the signing of Anya Tkachyk from Calgary, Canada. Tkachyk will join the Cardinals for the 2025-26 season. Tkachyk joins early signees Jemima Williams-Phillips (Australia) and Gabby Berrera (Montgomery, Ala.)
“We are very excited to sign Anya to our 2025 class,” Kirtaine said. “I think she has a ton of potential; she has a great work ethic and her best days are ahead of her. I’m looking forward to seeing her growth and development over the next few years. Along with Jemima joining us for Spring 2025 and Gabby for Fall 2025 Anya completes a very good signing class for the Cardinals and I’m excited to watch them represent us on the court.”
Tkachyk, has competed nationally for Canada since she was 15 years old. Her achievements include five provincial doubles championships, two International Tennis Federation (ITF) doubles titles, while also reaching the semi-finals in four ITF singles Tournaments.
Additionally, Tkachyk was a consolation finalist at the outdoor U18 Canadian nationals and recently claimed the singles title at the Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) event in Newport Beach, California.
