Comedian Tom Green Details His Canadian Farm Life With Mule Fanny
After decades in Los Angeles, comedian Tom Green traded in the glitz and glamour of the city for farm life in Canada, where he grew up — and he’s happier than ever.
“After a hectic day, I decompress by being outside in nature with my dog, or riding my mule, Fanny,” Green, 53, revealed exclusively in his 25 Things You Don’t Know About Me feature in the latest issue of Us Weekly, on newsstands now. “Lately, I have been cutting trails in the forest on my property to ride deeper into the wilderness. I love the peace and quiet of being alone in nature.”
Hanging out with Fanny provides a good workout too, according to the Tom Green Show alum.
“Riding my mule, Fanny, has been a great source of exercise,” he shared. “She is a big mule, a very large and majestic mare!”
Green details his life on the land on his YouTube channel, where he makes short films from the farm.
Things won’t stay quiet for Green for too long, though, as the next few months hold exciting new ventures, including his This Is the Tom Green Documentary, his Tom Green I Got A Mule! comedy special taped at The National Arts Centre in Ottawa and Tom Green Country, his four-part docuseries, all of which premiere on Prime Video in January 2025.
Keep scrolling for more fun stories from Green, including his favorite moment from The Tom Green Show:
1. My first car was a Ford LTD that belonged to my parents. It would stall at every stop sign unless I shifted into neutral and kept my foot on the gas.
2. Miss Piggy from The Muppet Show was my celebrity crush growing up.

4. The proudest moments of my career were when I guest-hosted Late Show With David Letterman and hosted Saturday Night Live. I always dreamt of being on both of those shows.
5. Jaws is my favorite movie.

13. The app I use the most is YouTube. I’ve been enjoying making short films from the farm for my YouTube channel.
14. My favorite moment from The Tom Green Show was when I pranked my parents by painting their house and their car. It was before social media and prank television took over. People watching the stunts back in the ’90s — before the show premiered on MTV — couldn’t believe what they were seeing. We had some laughs!
15. My favorite item in my wardrobe is my boots.
16. Lately, I’ve been cutting trails in the forest on my property to ride deeper into the wilderness. I love the peace and quiet of being alone in nature.
