Wildcats close second at Canadian Crown

Close to the crown for the Swift Current Innovation Federal Credit Union Wildcats.

They fell 2-1 in a shootout to the Prince Albert Bears in the championship game of the U18 Female Canadian Crown hockey tournament in Alberta.

Dior Stringer scored the lone goal of the championship game for Swift Current.

The Wildcats won three out of their five games at the event including a 3-1 win over NAX in the semi-final.

They beat the Winnipeg Ice 4-1 and North Shore Warriors 4-3 to start tournament play. Sherwood Park handed them a 3-2 loss to wrap up the round robin. 

Kara Berge and Jade Thompson led the team with 5 points each over their five tournament games.
