Daniel Nestor returns to ballot for International Tennis Hall of Fame Class of 2025

Canadian tennis legend Daniel Nestor has returned to the ballot for the International Tennis Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025 in the Player Category. Nestor is joined by fellow nominees five-time singles Grand Slam champion Maria Sharapova and American doubles team Bob and Mike Bryan.

Having enjoyed a stellar playing career from 1991-2018, winning eight doubles and four mixed doubles Grand Slam titles as well as an Olympic Gold medal (Sydney 2000) and four ATP Tour Finals doubles crowns, this is the third year Nestor has been named on the ballot. In total, he won 91 career titles, spent over 100 weeks as the No. 1-ranked doubles player in the world and held the record as the first player to win 1,000 ATP doubles matches. He was also an ever-present on Team Canada in Davis Cup action playing in 53 ties, including versus Serbia in the 2013 semi-finals.

“It’s a real honour to be named on the ballot for a third year,” Nestor said. “It is amazing to be recognized among some of the all-time greats of the sport. Congratulations to my fellow nominees, Maria [Sharapova], and Bob and Mike [Bryan].”

The poll for the ITHF Class of 2025 is now open and fans can vote for Nestor at vote.tennisfame.com. Voting will run through Thursday, September 12. In addition to the fan poll, the Official Voting Group comprised of tennis journalists, historians, and Hall of Famers, will cast their ballots over the next month.
