The Kelowna, British Columbia native is viewed as one of the top Canadian draft-eligible players

CHENEY, Wash. — Going into his senior season as an Eagle, wide receiver Nolan Ulm is getting attention from in his home country. Ulm was listed among the Top-20 Canadian-born prospects for the 2025 Canadian Football League (CFL) Draft, slate at No. 6.

The rankings are compiled by the CFL Scouting Bureau, including scouts, player personal directors and general managers from the league’s nine teams. The Scouting Bureau releases rankings in the fall, winter and spring, leading up to the 2025 draft.

Ulm was named to Phil Steele’s preseason All-Big Sky second team earlier this summer after earning a fourth team honor from Steele last season.

In 2023, Ulm caught 45 passes for 564 yards – 12.3 yards per catch – and had four touchdown catches. Ulm’s yards total ranked second on the team and 15th in the Big Sky.

For his career at Eastern, Ulm has played in 41 games with 15 starts. The Kelowna, B.C. native has 1,046 career receiving yards on 83 catches and nine touchdowns.

Ulm was one of two Big Sky wide receivers to appear on the list as he was joined by Montana’s Keelan White (North Vancouver, B.C.).

The rankings included eight defensive lineman, four defensive backs, three wide receivers, two offensive lineman, two linebackers and one quarterback. The list was made up of 14 prospects from the NCAA and six from the Canadian level, U Sports. In the 2024 CFL Draft, four of the nine first-round selections were listed in the 2023 CFL Scouting Bureau fall Top-20 prospect list.

Ulm and the rest of the Eagles completed fall camp yesterday after 22 practices and two scrimmages in preparation for the 2024 season. EWU gets to play its first two games this season at Roos Field, opening with Monmouth next Thursday (Aug. 29) at 6 p.m. Pacific Time. Eastern then hosts Drake on Saturday (Sept. 7) with kickoff at 4 p.m.
