Canadian Football League–Week 11 of the regular season starts:

Ottawa RedBlacks at Calgary Stampeders—7 p.m.

(The Saskatchewan Roughriders return to action tomorrow when they host the Montreal Alouettes. Kick-off time is 7 p.m. at Mosaic Stadium. The Green and White have 5 wins, 3 losses, 1 tie for 11 points…good for 1st place in the West Division. Montreal has 8 wins, 1 loss for 16 points…good for 1st place in the East Division.)

The Prairie Football Conference is idle until Saturday when Calgary visits the Edmonton Huskies. The Saskatoon Hilltops are off until Sunday when they visit the Winnipeg Rifles at Noon. The Toppers have 1 win, 0 losses for 2 points…tied for 1st place. Winnipeg has 0 wins, 1 loss for 0 points…tied for 4th place. The Hilltops’ next home game is Sunday, September 15th against Winnipeg. Kickoff time is 1 p.m. at Saskatoon Minor Football Field.

On the golf courses…

The 2024 Canadian Junior Boys Championship continues today and runs through tomorrow in Innisfail, Alberta. The event is four days and 72 holes with today being the third of four rounds. Following the 36-hole cut, the following Saskatchewan products are still competing – Aricin Franklin and Ryan Mosher…both of the Riverside Country Club.

The P-G-A Tour Americas Elk Ridge Saskatchewan Open, presented by Lake Country Co-Op, starts today and runs through Sunday at the Elk Ridge Resort’s tournament course. A total of 156 professionals and top amateurs are taking part in the 72-hole medal play event. Today is the first of four rounds.

The Under-15 Canadian Boys Fastpitch-Softball Championship continues today and runs through Monday in St. Leonard-d’Aston, Quebec. A total of 11 teams are taking part in the round-robin plus playoffs format, including the Valley Blue Jays and Prince Albert Astros from Saskatchewan. The Valley Blue Jays have 0 wins and 2 losses…tied for 9th place while the P-A Astros have 2 wins and 0 losses…tied for 1st place. On their schedules today…..

9 a.m. – Valley Blue Jays vs Elmira, Ontario, Heat
