NOC Denied: Babar Azam, Rizwan, Shaheen Afridi Out of Global T20 Canada

The top three players in Pakistan, Babar Azam, Mohammed Rizwan, and Shaheen Afridi, are not expected to get a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to play in the next Global T20 Canada, according to sources who talked with Geo News.

The sources told Geo News that the players won’t get the go-ahead despite the league schedule in order to avoid any clashes with Pakistan’s international schedule.

On August 21, Pakistan and Bangladesh will start their two-match Test series. According to ANI, the Canadian League’s season starts on July 25 and lasts until August 11.

Additionally, it was stated that players taking part in all formats would not receive the certificate in compliance with regulations, which is most likely the reason the NOC denied the request. Because of their hectic schedules, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is against issuing players a notice of clearance (NOC).

The well-known pacer Naseem Shah was also denied entry into The Hundred last week. The sources told Geo News that after reviewing the Pakistani cricket player’s application, they decided to deny the NOC out of prudence.

Despite the fact that Naseem represents Pakistan in all three tournaments, the sources claim that his application was rejected in order to protect him from injuries because he had injuries and fitness problems the year before.

Apart from the previously listed three, Muhammad Amir, Mohammad Nawaz, Asif Ali, and Iftikhar Ahmed also have contracts with Global T20 Canada.

Earlier this week, PCB chairman Naqvi stated that the players would receive the NOC subject to certain conditions. The players that fulfill the standards will receive the NOC.

“The players’ performance and level of fitness will determine their promotion.

There is no room for players who don’t meet the requirements. Additionally, discipline won’t be compromised, according to PCB Chief Moshin Naqvi.

As Pakistan’s red-ball head coach Jason Gillispie has already hinted at in their crucial World Test Championship matches against Bangladesh, star bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi might not be available for the series.

Shaheen and Ansha got married a year ago and are expecting their first child together. This might mean he misses the next month’s Test series against Bangladesh.

“Shaheen’s childbirth may cause her to miss Bangladesh Test matches.” If he wishes to be with his wife till then, we may give him some rest,” Pakistan’s red-ball coach, Jason Gillispie, stated last week.
