Olympic basketball Team Canada revealed their men’s basketball squad for the Paris Olympics

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Jamal Murray of the Denver Nuggets head a Canadian men’s basketball team with substantial NBA experience that will compete in the Paris Olympics this summer.

Canada Basketball and the Canadian Olympic Committee announced the lineup on Wednesday, with 11 of the 12 players having previously competed in the world’s top basketball league.

Gilgeous-Alexander of Hamilton excelled as Canada qualified for the Olympics at the 2023 FIBA World Cup by winning the bronze medal game against the United States.

On Canada’s roster, team captain Kelly Olynyk and RJ Barret will represent the Toronto Raptors, along with World Cup standout Dillon Brooks of the Houston Rockets and Thunder defensive veteran Luguentz Dort.

The Canadian men’s basketball team will make their first Olympic appearance since finishing ninth at the 2000 Sydney Games.

Basketball will take place from July 27 to August 11.
