In a significant move for the Global T20 Canada 2024 season, the Vancouver Knights have bolstered their squad by signing three of Pakistan’s biggest cricket stars: Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Mohammad Amir.

Pakistan cricket team, after getting knocked out of the first round of the 2024 T20 World Cup, have returned back home. The team led by acclaimed batter Babar Azam didn’t turn up as a unit and lacked the necessary approach to compete in modern-day cricket.

Regardless, after the T20 World Cup humiliation, Pakistani cricketers have their next assignment lined up. The Global T20 Canada League’s fourth edition is set to commence from July 25 to August 10.

Vancouver Knights sign Pakistan trio for upcoming season

Ahead of the tournament, the Vancouver Knights have made a few notable signs of building a formidable lineup. The Knights, who finished as second runners-up in the 2023 season, aim to cross the finish line this year. And to help with the quest, Vancouver Knights have signed Pakistan’s acclaimed players, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Mohammad Amir.

Babar Azam is widely popular for being the best modern-day batter Pakistan has produced. His numbers in T20 cricket in the recent past are much greater compared to Virat Kohli.

On the other hand, Mohammad Rizwan, another well-known opening batter from Pakistan, has made a name for himself with his fearless approach at the top. He has the ability to bat deep, and score runs at a healthy strike rate.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Amir, an impactful left arm pacer, recently came out of his international retirement to feature in the T20 World Cup for Pakistan. Contrary to his team’s performance, Amit stood tall with 7 wickets in four games.

Notably, Vancouver Knights have also acquired Dipendra Singh Airee and Sandeep Lamichhane from Nepal to finalise the squad for the season.
