When are USA playing at T20 Cricket World Cup? Schedule, times, dates and how to watch TV and stream in US & Canada for CWC matches | Sporting News

The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 will be the first major international cricket competition in the United States, with the hope of taking the sport’s popularity to the next level in North America.

Team USA earned automatic entry for the tournament as the co-hosts, alongside the West Indies, and are set to play in the finals for the first time.

Given their rookie status, few will be backing them to qualify for the “Super 8” knockout stage in the 20-team tournament. Still, with a passionate home crowd behind them, the Monank Patel-led USA side has the potential to surprise at the World Cup and potentially pull off an upset or two in the group phase.

With all that in mind, The Sporting News brings you the full round-up of when Team USA will play their games, and who has made the cut in the final 15-player squad.

Team USA’s Squad for T20 Cricket World Cup

Led by 31-year-old wicket-keeper batter Monank Patel, the USA squad carries a blend of experience with both proficient and young talents. The inclusion of former New Zealand all-rounder Corey Anderson adds firepower, with his experience in a World Cup final a valuable asset, albeit his best years may be behind him at the age of 33.

Almost half the squad is made up of players who have plied their trade in the Indian domestic cricket at some point in their careers.

The team carries seasoned campaigners like Saurabh Netravalkar, the most capped USA player, Aaron Jones and Steven Taylor that bring stability to the batting order.

In a massive injury boost for the team’s bowling department, Ali Khan is fit for the tournament after shaking off a hamstring injury that kept him out of the Canada series. Off-spinner Milind Kumar has also been included in the squad after impressing in the Canada series.
